I got this to practice using the new avionics in the rental fleet at my FBO for IFR training. It works exactly like the real thing, buttons feel great. Its an exact replica in size as the unit in the 182 I fly. As an OG that grew up on steam gauges this has helped me transition to TAA aircraft without all the cost of plane rental. Encoders are of good quality and it came with both mounting options (desktop stand or panel clamps).. Now want to get G1000 to train up to full glass cockpit.

I was annoyed fumbling in VR with the mouse. This solved my problem. I keep saying a manufacturer should make layout specific parts without the screens. They'd probably be a lot cheaper. This is the next best thing. Love it.
United StatesPlugged it in, centered the gps into the screen with my mouse and started flying IFR within 2 minutes on XPlane. Absolutely love this unit. No set up required after the first time so it’s great to use every flight. Learning buttonology for IFR is critical and this unit is the perfect solution. Great quality buttons and hi-res screen. Make this unit a part of your pilot proficiency.
