Part-Time Customer Support — Remote (US / Canada)
Who we are
FlightSimBuilder makes realistic avionics hardware for home cockpits — the TNxi 8X multi-profile touchscreen avionics (G1000, G1000 NXi, G3X Touch, G600TXi, GTN 750Xi, Steam Gauges), integrated panels, and complete simulator rigs for Microsoft Flight Simulator and X-Plane. We're growing, and we're expanding our support team to keep the experience great for a growing community of builders and pilots.
The job
You'll be the first person our customers talk to. Tickets come in by email and fall roughly into three groups:
- Technical help — FSBLauncher setup, firmware updates, avionics profiles, getting hardware talking to MSFS 2020/2024 and X-Plane, USB and connection troubleshooting
- Order questions — shipping status, tracking, and returns
- Pre-sales — compatibility questions and which panel fits which setup
You'll handle most of these start to finish using our knowledge base and playbook (which you'll help improve as you go), and escalate deep engineering questions — firmware internals, repair decisions — to the product team. We use Zendesk which will drafts replies; you review, refine, and send, or write your own.
The schedule
15–20 hours per week, fully remote. Coverage matters more than exact hours: most customers write in between mid-morning and evening US time, and we're adding weekend coverage as part of this expansion — so availability for a few hours on Saturdays and Sundays is a big plus. The rest is flexible.
You're a fit if
- You actually fly sims. You know what a G1000 is, you've fought with SimConnect or a USB driver at 1 a.m., and you can read a customer's description and picture what's on their screen. Real-world G1000/G3X experience — flight students, CFIs, pilots — counts too.
- You write clearly and patiently. Most of the job is explaining technical things kindly to people at every skill level.
- You're reliable on a schedule and comfortable working independently.
- Bonus points for experience with Zendesk or any helpdesk, solid Windows troubleshooting skills, or already owning FSB hardware.
Pay
$22–28 per hour depending on experience, paid as an independent contractor. US or Canada based. This is a long-term role — we want someone who grows with us, and there's room to expand hours and responsibility over time (testing new products, writing help articles, community moderation).
How to apply
Email hiring@flightsimbuilder.com with the subject line "Support Application" and include:
- A few sentences about your sim setup — hardware, software, what you fly. Be specific; this is the part we read first.
- A short answer to this sample customer question, written as if you were replying to them: "Just installed my TNxi and the G1000 profile shows on the screen but nothing changes when I fly in MSFS 2024. The launcher says connected. What do I do?" Don't worry about knowing our exact software — we're looking at how you think and how you write.
- Your general availability and timezone.
No resume required. No cover letter. Just show us you're one of us.
