Selecting Monitor or TV for your flight simulator

Next, you need to decide whether you want a setup with three monitors/TVs or just one. We highly recommend a three-monitor/TV setup as it's the only way to achieve proper side views for your simulator. However, a three-monitor setup requires your system to generate three times the graphics. For this, we recommend the RTX 5080 or at least the RTX 5080Ti. If you decide on a single monitor setup, the RTX 5070 might suffice.

One Monitor Setup

  • If you decide to go with a one monitor setup, there are many options on the market, and you can choose the one you like.
  • We recommend adding Track IR to your setup if you only have one monitor. This will provide some way to have side views and enhance your overall experience.

Three Monitor Setup

  • This setup starts making your simulator look like a real flight simulator.
  • The benefits of using monitors include high refresh rates and no lag between inputs and what you see, as they are built for gaming.
  • It's easy to mount three monitors using a Triple Monitor Stand Mount.
  • There are many monitors available; we recommend 27" monitors, which you can buy at your local Best Buy (i.e. LG - UltraGear 27” Nano IPS QHD)
  • We do not carry monitors as we recommend buying them from your local store to reduce shipping costs and have an easy return option if needed.

Three TV Setup

  • If you have enough space and want your simulator environment to look almost life-sized, a three TV setup is the way to go.
  • The good news is that a 50" TV can cost the same as a 27" monitor.
  • However, there are some drawbacks to using TVs, such as lower refresh rates. TVs are designed primarily for watching movies and shows, not for gaming.
  • Most TVs can run at least 60Hz, which is acceptable. If the TV has a Game Mode, it usually reduces the lag even more.

  • We do not carry TVs as we recommend buying them from your local store to reduce shipping costs and have an easy return option if needed. Places like Costco are a good option if you are in the USA.
  • You will also need a heavy duty floor stand for three TVs like this one. Please make sure to select HD version for 50-55" TV
